Keep a Positive Attitude

Scientists still don’t fully comprehend how our minds and bodies are connected. But they do agree that your state of mind affects your body in ways they haven’t even explored yet. Keep a positive, upbeat attitude. If your mind is in a positive, peaceful place, your body will respond.

Keep Track of Your Schedule

Not everyone has a temperature of 37 Degrees Celsius (98.6 Degrees Fahrenheit), and not every woman ovulates in perfect, four-week cycles. Keep track of your cycles. The most fertile time for your body is two weeks after your period – which may not be exactly two weeks before your next one. Know your body and plan accordingly.

Lose or Gain Weight

People who aren’t at their ideal body weight may have more trouble conceiving. If you’re underweight, you may be malnourished in which case your body will have more trouble conceiving. On the other hand, if you’re overweight, the associated health problems can also lead to difficulty. Exercise, eat healthy, and work towards your ideal weight.

Get Some Sleep

It’s not really rocket science – your body needs a certain amount of consistent sleep to function properly. The more deprived of sleep you are, the harder it’s going to be to conceive. Force yourself to get the right amount of sleep your body needs every night. You should do it for your own health anyway (also keep in mind that when the baby comes, you’re not going to get much sleep).

Relax

This goes back to having a positive attitude. Your body physically responds to your emotional and mental health. If you’re stressed, your body is going to respond. The fight-or-flight responses are our body’s natural way of reacting to perceived stress. If your body is constantly in that mode, it will work against you conceiving. Listen to your body. When your child is here, you’ll already have practice in managing stress.
