Wall-E Review

I went to see Wall-E on Sunday and it was one of the most awesome movies I have ever seen. It was extremely cute the whole time and what completely fascinated me was how Pixar were able to produce such an awesome movie with basically no dialogue. The backbone of Wall-E is a romantic story developing between two robots and it's breathtaking how much can be said without words. I love every movie that Pixar ever released and Wall-E stays true to high standard these guys never fail to deliver. This movie is a masterpiece. Five out of five, hands down.

Wall-E Spoilers

Wall-E which is short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter-Earth Class is a little robot who is all alone on Earth, carrying out his duty of a garbage collector and compactor. The earth is a cold and abandoned place where only hills of metallic garbage can be found. Accompanied by only his friend cockroach, Wall-E goes out every day, just as he has for 700 years since humans abandoned him there and forgot to turn him off - to collect garbage which he stuffs inside his square bode and compacts by a mechanism inside, ultimately spitting out a cube of metal, which he stacks up into towers of metal.

There are no dialogues, other than some play back on a TV that was left turned on and kept playing the same stuff over and over. Yet despite no dialogues, the movie introduces Wall-E as main character in a very cute manner allowing a viewer to establish connection with poor robot who's all alone on entire planet yet still remains loyal to his duties.

One day big rumble comes and Wall-E sees a huge space ship land close to him. The space ship drops off another robot who is way more advanced, capable of flying and firing. After a little snooping around and near getting killed, Wall-E eventually becomes friends with Eve (name of cute white robot, meaning Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator) and takes her to his hideout.

In his hideout, Wall-E has a TV with a tape recording of some old movie with Hello Dolly song. He watched it often noticing and learning emotions form the movie, especially how people there were holding each other's hands. Wall-E also saved the only living organism that survived under the pile of garbage - a little plant that he keeps inside an old shoe.

When Eve is shown the plant, she puts it inside herself and it turns her off. She becomes dead - which is the part I didn't quite get. Wall-E was in love with Eve the moment she landed on Earth so he was heart broken when she deactivated and tried his best to revive her. Failing at his attempts, he saw the space ship come back and take Eve away. Not willing to part with his love, Wall-E clings onto the ship and flies into the space.

He ends up on an Axiom, space ship that was directed to stay floating in space and not come back, because the Earth became so polluted with garbage, the life on it was no longer sustainable. That is why all people abandoned it and left Wall-E robots to clean it, hoping the biosphere would renew. All robots failed, until only Wall-E remained, still serving his purpose. The people in Axiom were unable to move as everything was automatic and they were stuck to a chair throughout their lives. Captain of the ship is revealed the truth about the Earth and sees a plant and argument between the machines and a captain takes place.

Eve is revealed how much Wall-E went through looking after her when she was deactivated by previewing the footage form a security camera and falls back in love with him. Captain of Axiom is able to bring the ship back on the Earth, but the fight against machine destroyed Wall-E. Upon arrival on Earth, Eve takes broken Wall-E back into his shad where he has spare parts for himself and tries to fix him. She succeeds, but Wall-E comes back he way he originally was - no emotions, just ready to gather and compact garbage. He doesn't recognize Eve and goes to do what he was built for. Eve grabs his hand, the sign of emotions he spent so much time watching on TV and gives him a kiss, which brings back the feelings he built up in himself making it the cutest ending for a movie ever. Such a beautiful movie I cried :/

Absolutely beautiful movie, truly shows how much you can tell with no words. I hope Wall-E becomes the first movie to win the Oscars for best picture, because this movie is THE best picture of the year. I go to see many movies, but this was the best I have seen in many, many years.

I'm completely in love with Wall-E. Movies are something you see and let go off your mind, you see one, then you see another and then another. Wall-E left very strong impression in me and I truly believe that it deserves an Oscar. However based on the figures it seems like it's one of the worst performing Pixar movie to date. People don't know what they're missing. This is the most adorable movie you will have ever seen. The animations are so well done everything in it looks real. I don't have enough good words to say about Wall-E.

Pixar are not the best animation studio in Hollywood. They are THE best MOVIE producing studio in Hollywood, period. Wall-E is the best movie of 2008. No other movie released this year comes close to Wall-E. It's a beautiful, touching, intelligent and cute movie that I'm sure to o see several time before I can let goo of it in my head.

Wall-E deserves to get nominated and win Best Picture award. I'm talking about THE Best Picture of 2008, not best animated movie or something like that. Wall-E is the best picture of 2008 and if it doesn't get nominated, then that was the last time I've watched Oscars.

I was deeply moved by the love story this movie delivered. This story will melt your heart even if it's gone completely cold.

Well, Wall-E definitely sounds like a movie I would want to see. I would anyway, because I love Pixar movies, but most of the time I tend to be a cheap ass and don't go to the movie theater and buy a DVD when it's released instead.

There sure is some dialogue in the movie, but it's amazing how Pixar people were able to introduce Wall-E as the main character and create connection between him and the audience basically without any dialogues. Entire character development without dialogues, yet you never felt like you're missing anything. This movie is a true masterpiece. I have to say it again - there's a lot that can be said without words.

Every movie from Pixar has been a masterpiece, but with Wall-E they stepped way over their own shadow. They're gonna have hard time producing a movie that would be better than Wall-E. With this picture, they set the standard way up high for everyone, including themselves. Great job, Pixar. Wall-E definitely deserves the Best Motion Picture Oscar. The Dark Knight better deliver beyond imagination if they want to stay in the same class and get a shot at Oscars. Cause otherwise there hasn't been a movie up to par with Wall-E this year. There have been too many crappy ones. The Iron Man and Wanted to name a few.

Pixar proved they are geniuses once again. They are able to create a movie that will appeal to absolutely every generation. This ability to create a family movie that is not a kid movie is astounding. There is big message behind Wall-E and even though 60% of the movie would fly by the head of any child, they would still enjoy the movie for its sheer cuteness and unobtrusive humor. Adults will have even more as Wall-E can both make you think and let your emotions afloat at the same time. What a masterpiece.

Wall-E is a guaranteed 2008 Oscar nominee and should win. There simply had NOT been a better movie produced since The Lord of the Rings. However, promotional materials Pixar released are cute and engaging, but don't do the movie justice at all. The way Wall-E carries you from the very first second to the very last is brilliant. Pixar has outdone itself and accomplished impossible. But I could imagine that based on just trailers and teasers, many people would think it's a stupid movie. Those trailers simply don't do Wall-E justice. With their previous movies, for example Finding Nemo, Pixar put together very engaging trailers that made every want to go. With Wall-E they were more conservative and left a lot to people's imagination hence majority of people who went to see it went just because.

I - for example - went to see it because it's made by Pixar and so far I like everything I've seen from them. The plot I gathered form trailers didn't promise anything too engaging, but damn - was I ever wrong. Wall-E is the sweetest, the most intelligent, the most imaginative and the most insanely moving film of the decade. A must see for anyone who's uncertain or thinks they may not like animated movies.

I went to see it in a movie theater and when closing captions hit the screen, the most insane "wow" filled the room. Everyone in the theater, including me had this stare on their faces like - we have just seen the best movie of our lives. The best! Like, wow. I mean... wow! No one expected such a masterpiece.

lmao superstore has a giant display case with a HUGE Wall-E on the top. When customers walk by him, and randomly he makes funny noises.

Scared the HELL out of me when I first walked by it. And then the photo developer dudes laughed at me =/ But it's ok. They had some good stories about other customers that beat me. I'd love to be on Night shift with that thing. I'd have everyone scared lol.

I really like watching Wall-E. It's great.

But....
I think it had the opportunity to tell a really relevant story that everyone needs to hear for all future generations, but really only hinted at it before it took a turn to the romance. It's unfortunate that they had to emphasize the romance so much, and forget about the state of the world that Wall-E was in. I've been waiting for another Animal Farm for decades, and this was almost there in terms of socio-political relevance.

Overall...almost perfect.
