Journals - The BIG Snow Event in Washington, D.C. OK, first - I do live in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Second, we have the second most congested roads in the US. Third, folks around here cannot drive no matter what the conditions: Sun, darkness, rain, and - God forbid - SNOW!
People around here just totally freak at the mention of the word SNOW! Mention this word, and - even before it starts to snow - try to buy milk, bread, and other basic necessities at the grocery store. Not happening! Folks go wild and buy more milk and bread than they need in a whole week - and then - it might not even SNOW! (Damned weather forecasters have an issue doing there jobs sometimes!)
Driving somewhere ... forget about it! You can be driving down the road around DC and as soon as the first flake falls from the sky, there's a traffic jam - grid lock - pandemonium! I ain't shittin you one damn bit! I won't even talk about what happens when snow lays on the ground - three hours to go less than 25 miles!
That's why I didn't go to work today! I totally freak on people driving on a dry road doing 40 mph in a 55 zone because flakes are falling from the sky!

I am on the dubba - dubba - dubba quite often, listen to metal, drive fast, and love birds and animals (particularly my four cats)! And ... in case you hadn't already guessed ... I enjoy Jack Daniel's Old Time Tennessee Whiskey!
Summary (professional):
I am a Software Quality Analyst (software tester) for a large Federal contractor here in the US and abroad. I work mainly in Northern Virginia right outside of Washington D.C. I've been in my current position for over 12 years. Before that I worked for the Defense Department as a programmer analyst.
Interests:
Internet Sites: I also subscribe to Hegre-Art.com and Suicide Girls - both of which I visit everyday. Techno needs almost always start at Newegg and I can be found reading the Wikipedia quite often.
Cats: I have four female cats over the age of ten: Kiki Roone, Little Kitty, Sparkles, and Smudge. You can see them in my photo area.
Music: I listen mainly to Metal, although I do like Jay-Z quite a bit. I have one IPOD with all of Jay-Z's CDs on it and I have another IPOD with all my Metal music on it. Among my favorite Metal artists are: Lamb of God, God Forbid, Insomnium - and - of course Metallica.
Vices: alcohol, smokin' trees, and wild, crazy women!
Books: I'm not very interesting in this area. I have quite a library - almost entirely made up of technical books.
TV: Dexter, The Tudors, Big Love, Heroes, CSI, Criminal Minds, and some of the annual reality shows such as Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother.
Computers: Well, where do we start? I currently have five PCs, two Windows notebooks, and a Macbook. My main rig:
