So the hot 26 yr old neighbor chick recently got divorced. She's the one that sorta looks like Jessica Biel from from a distance, but more like Mila Kunis up close. Anyway...
She got divorced and now lives alone
She cuts the grass in a bikini
She's an engineer, works hard and makes good money
She likes to party
She likes to camp
She rides street bikes
She rides dirt bikes
What's not to like, right?
Did I mention she invites friends over late at night and rides dirt bikes in her yard?
While we're trying to sleep?
Up until recently she's been a really good neighbor. We look out for each other. But now that I think back it was way more us looking out for her than the other way around. I digress
I'm a pretty laid back guy and have a lot of tolerance. My wife, however, has a very short fuse. For the 2nd time in a week her and her friends fired up the dirt bikes @ 9 PM and started riding in her yard. Three dirt bikes racing up and down the yard in an oval around her house for hours. The longest stretch of property - about 1,500 feet - adjoins our property and that's where they get going really fast...and loud.
We're 3+ acres away, but they're dirt bikes so of course we can hear them.
I didn't say anything either time for over an hour. We were in the living room during that time and didn't hear them much, but our master bath is the closest room to her property and we have a skylight that amplifies the sound outside in the master bath into our adjoining bedroom - like a speaker.
The first time it happened (about a week ago) I was really friendly and asked her very nicely to stop because we were trying to sleep. She was apologetic and put her bike away right away. She showed me her new dirt bike and we chatted for about 20 minutes. The usual friendly neighbor stuff that we've had over the past 3 yrs since she moved in.
The second time it happened, Tuesday, was not so friendly. They started the bikes at 9 PM and I marched over there at 10:30ish. They were all drunk off their asses and 3 of her friends were riding, but not her. I asked where she was and they were smart asses to me. Finally the neighbor comes out and she had a look on her face like "what do YOU want?"
I asked her again, politely, to put the bikes away because we couldn't sleep. Then she said something very stupid.
"But Scott, we're riding on my property.."
I turned pretty angry at that point and told her the obvious - that the dirt bike noise goes outside her property line and right into our bedroom.
I kept my anger inside but I'm sure she could tell on my face that I was pretty pissed off. She looked at me and shrugged as if "what do you want me to do about it?" DUH shithead, I want you to not ride dirt bikes late at night! I didn't say that but was thinking it. I shook my head and walked back home.
They did stop after I showed up, but everything changed between our friendship and neighborly attitude toward her at that very moment. Her ex husband, a very good friend, said she has mental problems and zero common sense. I always thought he said that because they had a pretty bitter divorce, but I suspect he's probably right.
Wish me luck. I think this is gonna get ugly. |
