Exclusive Picture and Video Galleries of Rock and Industrial Concerts in Alberta
...plus a whole lot more
This is where we'll be posting pictures of different bands that will make a stop in the city of Champions and throughout the rest of Alberta. I still have some ideas for improvement, but this is in general what it does:
The main gallery page of each band has small preview thumbs which a person can click to preview a larger version file. Each page allows for leaving comments, so surfers can leave their comments on each picture as well as the main gallery page to leave feedback on the gig and band itself. It is also programmed so non members can leave comments too - in other words, you dont need to have an account on the site in order to participate in band gallery comments (sort of the same idea as with some blogs). So once again it is not a requirement to be a member of AlbertaStars.com in order to leave comment on band galleries, however as a member, leaving comments is as easy as posting in forums - you type it in and hit Comment. And if you are not logged in, you have to provide your name (will be used to display as a name of the poster) your email address (will not be displayed, but must be provided for security reasons) and a captcha code will have to be entered too (protection form spam bots). This is a standard procedure that works on many websites so anyone can participate in commenting. Only if you have an account on Alberta Stars, it is more convenient as you don't have to go through the hassle of entering extra data each time.
Another neat part of the entire Band Galleries feature is that members can upload their own pictures and add them to the gallery. So if anyone was on Icon Of Coil concert and has pictures that they took, they can upload it and add it to the gallery for people to see and comment on. This is only available to members though. Cause otherwise we'd have untraceable people uploading shit and screwing everything up. People who upload their own pictures will have their name displayed with the pic so they get credit and recognition for it.
Hit me up with suggestions if you have any and... give me a break, damn it. I'm still working on it :D
